Whether Qurbani can be arranged in the name of a deceased person is a religious question that this page does not decide; please ask a qualified local scholar. What the website does is record the name of each person the Qurbani is for, exactly as the donor types it, so the donor’s own decision after consulting a scholar can be entered correctly.
What the website records
Each Qurbani option asks for one participant name for each selected unit. The website records the names that are entered; it does not check or comment on them. The guidance page says to enter the name of each person the Qurbani is for and to check the names again in the cart before payment.
Because the booking records whatever the donor types, the decision about whose name to enter is the donor’s, taken with the advice of a scholar where there is any doubt.
How many names each option takes
- Goat: one name.
- Buffalo Share: one name per share; several shares can be booked in one order.
- Full Buffalo: seven names; up to two Full Buffalo per order.
Spell each name as it should appear and check it in the cart. Once the amount is received the booking is confirmed. If you notice a wrong name after that, contact support with your order number.
Cancelling or changing a booking
A Qurbani booking can be cancelled up to 3 days before Eid ul Adha, with a full refund and no deduction, processed within 3 to 7 business days. If you need to change a name, contact support with your order number as early as you can. The contact page lists the ways to reach support.
After the Qurbani
Qurbani is performed during Eid ul Adha, and once your Qurbani is performed a confirmation is sent to you on WhatsApp. The meat is distributed to people in need and is not delivered to the donor. You can look up the status of your order on the Track Booking page.
Keeping a record of the names
Because a booking can carry several names, it helps to keep a written copy of the list you entered. If you later need to compare the confirmation with your list, you will have both in front of you. The Track Booking page shows the status recorded for the order, using the order reference and billing email.
Payment is made by bank transfer to the Daan Foundation account, with the order number as the reference. The booking is confirmed once the amount is received.
A question for a scholar
Questions about a deceased person, intention, agency, personal obligations or family circumstances are for a qualified scholar or a local religious authority. This page is not a religious ruling. For a ruling on your own circumstances, please consult a qualified local scholar.
