A woman can place a Qurbani booking with Qurbani Centre in her own name: the option pages ask for a participant name for each unit and nothing else about the person. Whether and how Qurbani applies to a particular woman is a religious question that this page does not decide; for a ruling on your own circumstances, please consult a qualified local scholar.
Booking in your own name
Every Qurbani option works the same way. You choose the option, set the quantity, and type the name of each person the Qurbani is for in the participant fields. The fields ask for a name only. If the Qurbani is for you, type your own name exactly as you want it recorded, then check the names once more in the cart before paying.
The booking is placed through the website checkout. After checkout you transfer the amount shown, using your order number as the payment reference, and the booking is confirmed once the amount is received. The account details are on the Bank Details page.
Which option to choose
The website offers three Qurbani options, all of which take a name for each unit:
- Goat: one goat is one complete Qurbani, offered in the name of one person.
- Buffalo Share: one of the seven shares in a buffalo, offered in the name of one person. You can book several shares and enter one name for each.
- Full Buffalo: a whole buffalo, which needs seven names. One order can include up to two Full Buffalo.
The prices are shown on each option page. They are read from the live product, so check the page for the current amount.
Booking for several women in a family
A donor can enter more than one name in a single order. For example, a mother, a sister and a daughter can each be recorded by booking three Buffalo Shares and typing one name in each field, or by booking a Full Buffalo and typing seven names. The names are those the donor enters; Qurbani Centre records what is typed.
Because each unit carries one name, it helps to decide the list of names before opening the option page, so that the cart review is a quick check rather than a drafting exercise.
A Quranic context
The Quran refers to sacrificial rites being appointed for communities so that they remember Allah’s name over livestock He has provided. The verse does not itself set out an individual ruling about gender, wealth, marital status, travel, or a particular school of fiqh. Quran 22:34.
After you book
Qurbani is performed on the 10th, 11th and 12th of Dhul Hijjah, after the Eid prayer, in the order bookings are received. Once your Qurbani is performed, a confirmation is sent to you on WhatsApp. You can check the status recorded for your booking at any time on the Track Booking page with your order reference and billing email.
Qurbani bookings can be cancelled up to 3 days before Eid ul Adha with a full refund; the refund and cancellation policy has the details. The meat is distributed to people in need and is not delivered to the donor.
Questions that need a scholar
Questions about an individual’s Qurbani can depend on personal circumstances and the fiqh tradition a person follows. A qualified scholar can help a person consider the relevant details without treating a general web article as a fatwa. For a ruling on your own circumstances, please consult a qualified local scholar.
Frequently asked questions
Does the booking ask whether the donor is a woman or a man?
No. The participant fields on the option pages ask for a name for each unit. They do not ask for gender or marital status.
Can I book Qurbani in the name of my mother, sister or daughter?
Yes, the booking records the name of each person the Qurbani is for. Type the names you want recorded, one per goat or per share.
