The age of the person
This page does not state an age, a threshold or a school’s view for a person. Questions about obligation, age, eligibility, intention or family circumstances are for a qualified scholar or a local religious authority, who can ask about the person concerned.
The age of the animal
On Qurbani Centre a goat is at least one year old and a buffalo is at least two years old. The animal should be healthy and free from defects. These points are stated on the guidance page and on each option page: Goat, Buffalo Share or Full Buffalo.
Animal weight is not fixed, and the photos on the website are for illustration. The animals are bought from third-party suppliers; Qurbani Centre does not raise animals itself.
Names at booking
The booking asks for the name of each person the Qurbani is for. It does not ask for the person’s age. One goat is one share and takes one name, a Buffalo Share takes one name, and a Full Buffalo takes seven names. Check the names in the cart before paying.
After you book
Qurbani is performed on the 10th, 11th and 12th of Dhul Hijjah, after the Eid prayer, in the order bookings are received. Once your Qurbani is performed, a confirmation is sent to you on WhatsApp. The meat is distributed to people in need and is not delivered to the donor. The How it works page lists the steps.
Keeping the booking simple
Because the website asks only for names, the practical decisions are how many units to book and which names to enter. If you are unsure about a person, ask a scholar first, then return to the option page with the final list.
The cart shows the names, the option and the total before payment. Payment is by bank transfer to the Daan Foundation account, using the order number as the reference, and the booking is confirmed once the amount is received.
Quantities and limits
A goat takes one name. A Buffalo Share takes one name per share, and several shares can be booked in one order. A Full Buffalo takes seven names, and one order can include up to two Full Buffalo. For additional Full Buffalo, a separate order is placed.
